Kevia Ricketts, CIT (she/her) earned her master’s degree after working for many years in the corporate healthcare world. After a positive experience with her own therapy and working with grieving families in her full-time work, she decided to pursue a career as a counselor herself. Kevia helps clients to find joy in their everyday lives, give themselves grace, and focus on their strengths. She is a Counselor-in-Training under the supervision of Upaya's Director, Dr. Amanda Bittner, pursuing full state licensure in Missouri (she can also treat clients located in Illinois under Dr. Bittner's license). She works with adults 18 and older doing individual and group therapy.

Through her lived experience of a struggle with her own body image and her relationship with food, Kevia found healing in the Intuitive Eating philosophy. She is passionate about helping others make peace with food and finding movement they enjoy. Kevia believes that acknowledging the variance between societal expectations and what we truly desire is the first step to move forward in being our most authentic self. She fosters a collaborative relationship in hopes of helping clients build confidence, realize their capabilities, and find joy in the journey.

Kevia grew up in Tulsa and lived in Tampa prior to moving to St. Louis. She enjoys live music of all kinds as well as cooking, lifting weights, yoga, meditation, and spending time with friends. Please reach out if you are interested in doing therapy with Kevia by contacting us below or calling 314-252-0675.
