Becky Connor, LPC/LCPC (she/her) believes that each of us has a unique history that shapes our lives. These stories can impact how we make sense of our inner and outer world. Some of the typical issues she has helped clients address include depression, anxiety, mania, trauma histories, and substance use. In addition, she has a personal passion working with clients who are exploring their gender identity and/or sexuality. Often because of the concerns her clients bring up, Becky helps people with life changes, career questions, self-esteem, and relationship issues. Her approach to counseling is warm and inviting. She believes that you know yourself best and her relationship with you can help facilitate growth and change. Becky enjoys helping people identify their values and make changes that align with things that are important to them.

Becky was born and raised in St. Louis. She moved to Chicago in 2002 where she completed her undergraduate and graduate education and spent 15+ years providing mental health services to diverse clientele in a variety of urban settings. Becky recently moved back to St. Louis to be closer to family.  She now provides evidence-based individual therapy with Team Upaya to adolescents (14+) and adults who are looking to deepen their understanding of themselves, others, and the wider world. She is a member of the Upaya DBT Consultation Team.  She is in the process of DBT core certification in the state of Missouri; Becky completed training in EMDR to better help those with trauma histories to relearn how to feel safe in the present moment.

Becky is a proud member of the queer community and most nights she can be found on the couch watching movies with her spouse, two dogs, Little One and Arthur, and two cats, Emily Binx and Mary Sanderson. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and crafting of any kind. She recently received a Cricut that she is still learning to use.
