Deborah Hargrove, LCSW (she/her) is Upaya Counseling's Administrative Assistant. She is the first person new clients interact with on our team, and she plays a very important role for us. Deborah knows how challenging it can be to search for behavioral health care and works diligently, delivering our client screening and scheduling process as well as other therapist support services.
Deborah herself is a clinician. She has worked in many settings with children, youth, and families. She is passionate about helping youth learn emotional intelligence and use emotion regulation skills to increase their quality of life at home, school, and relationships. In 2012, she began providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with individuals and leading skills training groups. She continued delivering DBT through 2016, while also treating children in schools and at private practice. In 2019, she closed her practice to stay at home with her three young girls.
Deborah spends most of her time homeschooling her girls: Lucy, Daisy, and Audrey. When they aren't doing school around the kitchen table, they are doing puzzles, spending time with family, or out exploring new playgrounds. Deborah is actively involved as the Director of their homeschool hybrid program and instructs the 1st & 2nd grade class.
